Proud to bear the name of our patron Saint, “SANTA MARIA”, our Philharmonic Society, or “Ta’ L-Istilla” as we are well known, was founded in 1905. The "Santa Marija" band, which takes part in various towns and villages in Malta and Gozo, is conducted by our well known bandmaster Mro. R. Sciberras. The “Santa Marija” School of Music is highly dynamic, thanks to our brass and woodwind teachers Mro. C. Mizzi and Mro. J. Sultana, and their great work with our students.
 
      Our Philharmonic Society has its own Fireworks Complex which is highly active, not only during the Feast of our Patron Saint “SANTA MARIA” between the 29th.of July and the 15^thof August, but during all the year around the Maltese islands.
 
      Another major section in our Society is the vigorous "Ta' L-Istilla" youth section which is the first youth section of its own in Mosta.  In our Society there are also the cultural, club, and supporters sections.
